Player: Gero
Character: Derek Hale
Series: Teen Wolf
Type of adjustment: Power update.
Current powerset: Lycanthropy, Alpha Hierarchy.
Specifics: I'm actually not changing too much here? I'm introducing a third power and a wolf form for Derek, but a lot of this is just copied from my app. For the most part, I'm just shifting around the powers he already has to work better with the umbrella system, to be more adjacent to Teen Wolf lore and to better explain what happens to the people he bites when he turns them into werewolves, but I'd like to bring in/nerf some things from canon as well - namely the memory transference thing. I didn't mention much about things Werewolves are weak to in my app and I wanted to add that, too.

power one. lycanthropy

Werewolf Physiology - Werewolves are capable of recovering from injuries at a much faster rate than humans, as well as sustaining heavier damage before their wounds affect them. They have advanced senses, capable of hearing pitches and frequencies outside the range of normal human levels, the ability to smell chemosignals and track someone's scent as a bloodhound would, as well as the ability to see light on a greater spectrum. They're affected by wolfsbane, which is - tl;dr - the kryptonite of Teen Wolf, a real flower with different properties and strands that can (in canon) kill or poison werewolves in a variety of different ways, but in MoM will essentially just make them very sick and die if they're exposed to too much of it. Mistletoe is similarly poisonous, and electricity at higher voltages can prevent them from shifting and bind them to their human forms.

The telltale sign of being a werewolf is probably the whole turn-into-a-wolfman thing, so. They can also do that.

Derek undergoes a number of physical changes to his appearance when he embraces his doggy side, something he can do at will - his eyes turn red, his teeth get spooky, he grows claws, and he's gifted with an increase in his physical strength and stamina, able to run faster and jump higher and punch holes in just about every dang wall he finds. He doesn't gain enough strength to classify it as super strength, but he can lift more and attack harder than he could otherwise.

More than just growing a few extra fangs and popping on a nail or two, Derek is capable of transforming into a more completed werewolf form, with broken bone structure and an increase in facial and body hair. This transformation causes him to become more animalistic in nature - bloodthirsty and angry, more predatorial than strictly civilized - and while he's capable of resisting the light of it, the full moon typically triggers full transformations in werewolves unequipped with the will or the discipline to anchor themselves, and should Derek ever go through this, he'll become violent; an untamed animal, a danger to himself and the people he cares for.

Pain Absorption - While incapable of actually healing wounds in any way, werewolves can take another person's pain into their bodies to allow them rest. Through touch, Derek draws a person's pain and absorbs it through his veins, allowing them peace. This applies to physical pain only.

Memory Transference - Werewolves are capable of removing or transferring a person's memories by inserting their claws into the back of said person's neck. Essentially, they can experience the memories of those they claw and can share their own in perfect clarity; this is something that can't be done easily, as it requires constant concentration and careful precision, and by nature of how it works pretty much has to be done with a willing partner. This ability can also, with practice, allow for memory manipulation or erasure; rewriting someone's memories or making them believe in one you implant, as well as removing them entirely.

power two. alpha werewolf
Alpha's Roar - In canon, a roar is arguably a werewolf's greatest weapon. Derek can roar incredibly loudly (this is as stupid of a scene as it was when i linked it on my app, what a stupid terrible show) to cause an underlying surge of irrepressible fear in the listener, forcing them to submit and cower under him. This can also be used to attract other werewolves, briefly energize members of his pack to fight with a physical strength typically greater than their own and snap a person back to their senses when possessed or otherwise influenced by an external presence.

Alpha's Bite - Derek can turn other people into werewolves through biting them in werewolf form, giving them the power of Lycanthropy and turning them into members of his pack (assuming, you know, their power update is approved.)

Those who Derek bites will become Beta Wolves, whose eyes glow gold (or blue, if they've committed murder before). Any Beta Wolf turned by Derek will gain an unshakable connection to him for as long as they're a part of his pack (something they can choose to leave at any time); a familial-like bond that makes them feel like they're a part of something, as well as a general sense of completion to who they are. Their powers will be a little stronger and easier to use when they're close to him, they'll feel a sense of clarity to their thoughts and they'll have more stamina than they would on their own.

Wolf Form - Derek can transform into a wolf. While in canon this is the trait of an "evolved werewolf", an ability only usable by werewolves who have mastered the balance between their wolf and human forms, Derek's from a canonpoint that's, like, three seasons too early to be that emotionally stable. In MoM, this is purely a power given to him by the porter. It's specifically tied to his role as an Alpha; rather than just looking like a normal black wolf as he does in canon, he's notably bigger than the average wolf, wielding both sharper claws and fangs, and he's slightly more feral than he would be in canon. He's capable of using both his bite and his roar in this form.

power three. pyrokinesis

A non-canon power. Derek can manipulate or create fire, either shaping fire that exists in front of him or else conjuring it in his hands or around his body from nothing. It's an unreliable power that's tied primarily to his emotional state; he can only use it when he's angry, and unless he has some pretty major character development that'll mellow him out a bit more somewhere down the road, he'll never really have complete control over it. It's essentially packaged wildfire.

He has no innate protection from any of his pyrokinetics, meaning the fire will hurt him if he uses it without wearing protection. The burns and scars he might get from using this power won't heal on their own and are immune to his lycanthropic regenerative abilities, but medicine and healing abilities from other imports still effect them.
