[ derek is a whole-ass idiot if he thinks stiles is going to forget that he said anything - but he will let it go for now. he's determined to fix this, though, because home is supposed to be comfortable for all of them, and he's not convinced yet that getting firstname lastname to warm up to derek is an impossible cause.

stiles hops down off the lab station, twisting quickly when some of the equipment rattles and clinks quietly with the soft vibration of his dropped weight. he puts his hands out, like a person trying to calm an agitated animal, and then straightens up when he's convinced nothing's going to crash to the floor. stiles cuts through the apartment after that, quiet even though he's not expecting anyone but derek to be on the other side of the door.

still, he waits for a code word, something nobody else should know about that is significant between the both of them, and derek doesn't disappoint. stiles breathes a soft sigh of relief and flicks the lock over, opening the door just wide enough for derek to slip through, but not so much that he wouldn't be able to close it swiftly if someone were to come strolling by on their way to the elevators.

stiles locks the door back up once derek's inside, a little awkward for a moment before he gestures toward the back of the apartment, both with his hands and a tilt of his head as he moves backwards. ]

It's... this way.

[ he takes a couple more backward steps and then turns to swing a right down the hallway, leading him to rosalind's lab, and the place he's been spending a couple hours, a few days every week, for... four or five months now, maybe longer than that.

stiles arcs around to the opposite side of the work station he's piled the majority of the stuff he wants to take on top of. he scratches near the bolt of his jaw in front of his ear, then drops his hand down onto the table. ]

Her, um. The library's at the other end of the hall, if you want to just. Leave some of the boxes here.
